I am an artist-illustrator who aims to cultivate spaces of contemplation and connection within 2-dimensional images. These images are articulated through digital painting programs as well as traditional medias including ink, watercolor, and graphite. My work often examines the world through the eyes of other creatures as they navigate the constructs humans have introduced to their environment, as well as the pillars of nature that were here long before us. In the time I spend watching the woods and fields around me, I consistently find tails of filaments that lead me to previously unexplored groves of my own vitality as it waxes and wanes. I believe that the unobserved workings in domesticated and wild spaces alike are intimately connected with cycles of the human experience. Like dew drops suspended on a spiders’ web, my work intends to lead the viewer to reflect on a grander design.
