Far Away and Splendid

Far Away and Splendid was a remote exhibition that ran from March 2021 to May 2021. Please click the following panoramic digital paintings to view them in virtual reality.
Humans have yet to determine exactly where what we know as the sky ends and outer space begins. The area of earth’s gravitational pull, or atmosphere, extends roughly halfway to the moon. This precious space hangs above every person, connecting us all and allowing the planet’s freshwater to circulate through the cloud cycle. Ingenuity and imagination have made sky sailing a reality for many. Far Away and Splendid is an ode to escapism. Yet, everything eventually returns to the ground. Planes touch down. Screens go dim, then dark. Eyelids lift. Ultimately, perhaps we love the sky so dearly because of what lies beneath it.
